Gymnastics  classes  info & schedule
2015-2016 Schedule posted below!
      Fall classes start 9/8.
1829 William Penn Way, Suite 102, Lancaster, PA  17601
(in Greenfield Corporate Center across from the park, corner of William Penn Way &
Colonial Village Lane.  We're the middle entrance with two handicap parking spots out
front of our door.)
Lives in Balance Gymnastics strives to inspire families to stay active.  We believe that
gymnastics is the ultimate activity for encouraging a lifelong love of physical activity, with skills that are able to carry
into any other sport and even into other areas of life.  We organize classes for kids of all ages, abilities and skill levels.
Class structure is recreational and safe, offering skill progressions that allow kids to build upon their learning through
time but also allow new students to enroll at any point.
Class descriptions:  (We have named our classes to
better reflect what you are looking for in your gymnastics class
experience.)
Hoppers are just 33 months to 5 yrs old (pre-schoolers, not in
kindergarten) and POTTY TRAINED. Being part of a class
might be a new experience, and some class time is spent
learning how to behave in a class setting; i.e. taking turns,
lining up, following directions. Those who already have
experience in this area will benefit from the opportunity of
being a leader. They may or may not be jumping two feet at
once and/or hopping on one foot. Some can skip alternating
feet. Cartwheels are placement of two hands on a cartwheel
mat and stepping or kicking their feet to other side. Some
cartwheels are starting to have a favorite side.  Want an hour
class?
EARLY PAY PRICE:  $48 (pay before week 1)
Standard Price:  $52.00 (week one)

Skippers are 5–7 years old and in kindergarten or just missed
cut-off. Skippers usually can skip alternating feet and we
work on learning or improving upon a run, skip, cartwheel.
We usually use a cartwheel mat, and work on keeping legs
apart for cartwheel, and emphasize the lunge position before
and after cartwheel. We do some bridges in class, but mainly
only push into bridge position and return back to floor.
EARLY PAY PRICE: $52 (pay before week 1)
Standard Price: $56.00 (week one)

Swingers: 6–10 years old – All 1st and 2nd, new 3rd grade,
some 4th and 5th  grade
Swingers are getting “in the swing of things” in more ways
than one. They are now in a full day of school and are ready
to handle an hour-long gymnastics class. Swingers love to
swing on bars, rope, etc. at gymnastics. They know or will
quickly learn the difference between a cartwheel (legs stay
apart) and a round-off (legs start apart and then come
together before landing). Swingers are learning to or may
already be able to kick bridges over and bend back into
bridges. We’ll work on improving strength in the handstand
position to better support more advanced gymnastics skills
and have a lot of variety in experiencing all different
apparatus available.
EARLY PAY PRICE: $60 (pay before week 1)
Standard Price:  $64.00 (week one)

Springers: 8–16 years old with experience and strong interest
Springers have had gymnastics experience and are able to
do cartwheels and round-offs well. Springers can kick a
bridge over with little or no assistance and can control a
handstand into either a bridge and/or a forward roll. Some
may already be able to do a front and/or back handspring
unassisted. Springers are all about handsprings and we’ll be
practicing them front and back but also spending a lot of time
on the other apparatus.
EARLY PAY PRICE: $60 (pay before week 1)
Standard Price:  $64.00 (week one)

Movers & Groovers are 9 years and up and may or may not
have gymnastics experience
Movers & Groovers love all the fun aspects of gymnastics and
may or may not want to learn handsprings and more
advanced gymnastics skills. Classes will emphasize fun and
varied exercise. Cartwheels, round-offs and handstands will
be a staple in every class but we’ll mix it up using the balls
and parachute and work on skills where participants feel
safe, successful, and challenged.
EARLY PAY PRICE: $60 (pay before week 1)
Standard Price:  $64.00 (week one)

Flippers ($56/month) are 9 years and up with experience and
mastery of handsprings, front and back
Flippers will work to connect their handsprings to other skills.
Unlike Tumblers, Flippers will also learn skills on the other
apparatus.
EARLY PAY PRICE: $60 (pay before week 1)
Standard Price:  $64.00 (week one)

Homeschool classes are held during normal school hours and
are for kids age 6 and up who are in at least 1st grade.
EARLY PAY PRICE: $60 (pay before week 1)
Standard Price:  $64.00 (week one)

Tumblers are 8 years and up wanting to improve tumbling
skills
Tumblers are interested most in back handsprings and round-
off back handspring combinations. We will also work on
building strength to support tumbling skills. Those who can
round-off, back handspring will also be working on multiple
back handsprings and flips. Some time will also be spent on
front tumbling, dive cartwheels, aerials, and walkovers. We
will use the other apparatus only to improve strength and for
drills to apply to tumbling.
EARLY PAY PRICE: $60 (pay before week 1)
Standard Price:  $64.00 (week one)
